Sci-Fi Convention at Space Science Center

Dutch Cummings of the Space Science Center informs me that we will have the following event coming up on October 10th:

The Columbus Sci-Fi Convention and Toy Show will be held at the Coca-Cola Space Science Center, 701 Front Avenue, Columbus, GA 31901.

Date: Saturday, October 10th
Time: 10:30am to 9pm

Comics, Games, Action Figures, Collectibles, Video Game Tournaments, Costumed characters, Model Rockets, Sun Scopes, plus giant outdoor chess!

The local Star Trek club will be in attendance along with the Star Wars 501st and Rebel Legion international costuming clubs.

Special Guest Star: Sam Witwer

Our special guest is Sam Witwer. Sam made his big screen debut in “The Mist,” as Private Jessup. He is best known for his roles as Crashdown on the television series "Battlestar Galactica," Davis Bloome, on last season’s “Smallville, ” who turns into one of DC Comics' most infamous villains, "Doomsday," and as Neil Perry on "Dexter." His other television credits include guest appearances on "Bones," "Star Trek: New Voyages," "NCIS," "Dragnet," "Cold Case," "JAG" and "ER." Sam’s heroic jump into the video game genre is his role in George Lucas' highly acclaimed "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" video game. He provides the voice for the central character, which was also modeled after him. Sam is looking forward to meeting the wonderful people of Columbus.
